New York City/Colorado trip 2012

We gave the boys the choice of an Asian beach vacation or Sterling this summer....guess which won out?  We all had a great time and started the trip off with sightseeing in NYC.  My parents, sister, bro-in-law and nieces met us there and we had a blast.  It was a great way to beat jet lag since we all were so busy during the day that we only had one night where Dominic woke at 5am.  Not bad at all compared to our Christmas trip.  From there we left Kenny who headed to Connecticut for work for a week and we all flew to Colorado.  Sterling is better than Disneyland as far as my boys are concerned.  Frogs, farms, golf, donuts, Slurpees, pool, parks, baseball, shooting BB guns.  Little boy heaven.  Thank goodness they were worn out for our flight home because what should have been less than a day's worth of travel turned into over 30 hours due to storms in Beijing.  After 18 hours on a plane we thought we were getting ready to land in Beijing only to be told we were being diverted to some small airport because of rain in Beijing.  We ended up being one of over 500 flights stranded and sat on the plane in the middle of nowhere for over 6 hours.  Finally we made it home around 5am Sunday morning when we should have been home the afternoon previous.  On the bright side, we were all so exhausted that we really haven't had jet lag on this end either.
