Angelina and brood go out in the rain

This has happened to us twice now, so now I have to jot it down in my "strange/funny things about living in China" file. I've been caught in the rain while shopping two times. Once with just Dominic and more recently it was all three boys and me. My driver always runs around trying to keep us covered with an umbrella which makes me feel weird enough....we're not walking the red carpet and we lived in Seattle for 7 years. We don't melt. Twice now, we've had our driver trying to keep us dry AND some random guy at the strip mall we shop at has pulled up a big patio umbrella and followed us. Not just a big umbrella, not a huge golf umbrella, a patio umbrella like the one they set up outside Starbucks at the tables. We must be quite the sight and the whole time I'm chuckling at the absurdity of the whole thing, plus how seriously everyone takes keeping us dry. Especially our driver who can't decide which of the scattering ants he should cover...."Do I keep the number 1 son dry?" "Oops, number 2 is getting wet." "Oh, Baby Mama and Baby are going around the other side of the car." "How do I keep them dry AND load the groceries?" "Oh my gosh, Baby Mama is heading for the trash can, but Baby is still in the cart. What do I do? WHAT DO I DO?"

As is usually the case here, the actions that inspire my posts come from the best intentions that keep our lives interesting.

Here's a picture of how we found Jack sleeping on our nightly rounds last night. The kid just can't seem to manage to stay in bed. When he sleeps with us on Saturday night sleepover we call him "The Tornado". Notice the pillows on both ends of the bed. Maybe we need to add one to the floor and come to think about it, after one incident in Germany maybe the bathroom floor too.
