OK, we've been in China for a little over a week now and I've been wanting to post to let everyone know we made it safely, but I just didn't feel like I could write anything but "what the f**k have we done?"
I always have to start these kind of posts with a disclaimer, so here it is....there is no where I'd rather be than in Beijing bitching about this crazy, polluted, dirty city. How boring our lives would be if we didn't have the past five years to look back on in Europe and I couldn't be more excited to check out Asia and experience living in a communist country in the middle of an economic explosion. For all of you content to never visit anywhere more exotic than Maui, I totally understand. For me, from the first visit I made to Europe in the mid-90's I knew I wanted to see and experience all four corners of the Earth. I just like to complain (a lot, Kenny would say) along the way.
So I'll keep this short and uncharacteristically sweet by saying, we had a great time in Colorado. Out of the 40+ countries the boys have visited when asked which is their favorite they both said, "Sterling." All of us (including Indy) made it safely after a very LONG flight. Kenny once again did an awesome job with the house hunting. The boys are enjoying school, but don't like being in separate classes. And as for me, I have been keeping busy trying to establish a household in the most different culture I've lived around with the biggest language barrier I've experienced.
Let the bitching complaining, U. S. Rockin' A. exclaiming begin. One positive note is that there are a lot of U. S. Rockin' A. restaurants around.
