Bordeaux
For Christmas we decided to make the trek to Bordeaux. It wasn't the best time for me since I missed out on all the good wine, but we brought a lot back to enjoy after the baby is born (and I'm sure I'll need it). We hadn't explored this area of France before and although it was a pretty long drive for preggers here, we all had a good time.
Highlights for the boys included hunting for and cutting up firewood, starting and maintaining the fire every night, roasting marshmallows, playing with sparklers, riding around in the restored WWII jeep the chateau we stayed at had, and anything to do with Grandma and Papa.
The adults loved all the good wine, beautiful scenery and quaint wine villages. The Dune du Pilat on the coast was amazing too. It's the biggest sand dune in all of Europe
