Parent/teacher conferences

I vividly remember sitting in kindergarten learning my ABC's and the sounds associated with them.  This week I had parent/teacher conferences for the boys and was told Luc was reading (which I knew) and getting ready to start multiplication (what!?!).  Since when did kids start multiplication in kindergarten?  Of course we're proud of him, but this made me think about two things.  Number one, he's doing great, but definitely not the most advanced in his class.  So what things are the most advanced five-year-olds working on?  Calculus?  Number two, if this pace keeps up I'm out as far as helping with homework after the third grade.

Jack is "cute as can be" but has trouble sitting still at circle time.  I may be doing his homework through Graduate school.

Here are their school pictures:

well first of all, ya know, they tell us all the time at school that the amount of knowledge in the world increases at an exponential rate blah blah blah, but i had no idea that third graders would be outdoing me in the math department come next year. i better get with it...

[[p.s., happy thanksgiving!]]

What little smarties! Now you know why we finally decided to send Caleb to the Italian school after going to C&K - just to give him something new to learn :)
