I'd say Kenny and I are getting close to having spanned the globe. Ten years ago we got married in New Zealand, we spent our 10-year anniversary in Iceland this past weekend and last night Kenny flew to Dubai.
The trip to Iceland was amazing and very different from anywhere we've been. The landscape is hard to describe and really can't be captured in pictures. It's wild, untamed, covered in lava, geysers, steam vents, glaciers, waterfalls, visible fault lines, and golf courses(a big surprise). It's cold, windy, rainy and smells of sulfur, but when the sun shines and skies are blue every view is breathtaking. The people are friendly and literally EVERYONE speaks English, probably due to the Icelandic language being so strange and difficult. I can't imagine being there in winter when it's even colder and dark 24 hours a day. I can't say enough about Iceland so I'll let the pictures speak for our trip...and yes, the Blue Lagoon really is that blue. I made the slide show fast in case looking at other people's vacation pictures really isn't your idea of fun. If the captions fly past and you're interested in reading them, click on "view all images" after the slide show is done.
