We had a really nice Thanksgiving albeit two days late given that all the guys were working on Thursday. The Smith's and Bradley's plus Christine's sister Tracey and her boyfriend Matt, who were visiting from Florida, came over with way too much awesome food. Christine resumed her designated spot at head of the children's table, and the kids couldn't be happier with the arrangement. Making what we Americans consider traditional holiday food is always interesting/frustrating here. I discovered there is no such thing as cream of chicken soup as far as I could find. Also, cooking our turkey in the small German "easy bake" ovens is always a challenge. Still, everything seemed to turn out fine and we all enjoyed lots of good food, wine, kids sparkling cider, and company. I'd have to say that this year I'm especially thankful for our good friends here in Germany. Without them I don't think our past 1.5 years here would have been nearly as fun!
