Good Sports Week for Our Big Man

Luc started off the week with a 3rd place finish for grade 5 and 6 at his school (4th overall for the boys in 4th, 5th and 6th).  He ran in 3rd place the whole race, but was passed at the the last second by a 4th grader who ran a smart race and sprinted in for a tight finish.  This is a huge improvement over the first year we were here when he got 11th place....out of 12 runners.

Then today we signed the boys up for a local climbing club's competition billed as "Beijing International Schools Climbing Championships."  Mind you, both boys were whining this morning about not wanting to go and then Luc surprised us with a 2nd place finish among all boys ages 6-12!  He won some sweet new climbing shoes and.....a box of organic veggies.  So China :-).  He was only beat by a little guy I call the "climbing gym rat" because he is ALWAYS there and is a very talented and hard practicing climber who looks like he's about seven or eight.
