First Days of School 2012

With our third full week of school underway and Dominic now in school half days, I find myself with time to wade through some pictures and get back to blogging.  The first week and a half were really tough on the little Nugster, but he's been doing much better this week with the whole school day routine.  The big boys make me proud too because they've really taken him under their wings by sitting with him on the bus and then walking him to class.  I wasn't sure how this was going to go because after having to sit with a wailing toddler on the bus the first few day, thus cramping his social style, Jack started saying, "It's Luc's turn to sit with him.  He cries the whole way to school."  Initially I am picking him up at 12:45 after lunch and play ground time.  I will start to extend this eventually so that he can take full advantage of the dual language program.  The teacher has already warned me we're going to go through some more growing pains when this happens because first thing every morning he tells her how he's not going back to the class after lunch because his mommy is coming to get him.

All three boys smiling and looking at the camera a few days before the first day of school.  Nothing short of a miracle these days.
At the open house the day before school started.  I didn't see that kind of excitement or smile about school for another 2 weeks.
 First day of school

One of the first days that I picked Nugget up.  He's always on the playground when I get there and his two buddies, Andrew and Owen, were comforting him.  I was trying to hide and get the picture, but I was too slow and missed the really cute shot with Andrew's arm around Dominic.
The hiding spot he found in hopes that I won't find him at bus time.
