Cooking Lessons

Kenny had a bad stretch of travel over the past few weeks, so my Mom flew in to keep us company and do some traveling of our own. Kenny made my Mom promise to teach me how to make her Bolognese pasta sauce which we accomplished yesterday. Today my cousin Debbie posted on Facebook that she'd just made our Grandma's breadsticks and this inspired me to whip up a batch with Mom today. While we were at it, we thought "Kenny would really love some of gnocchi when he gets home" so we made those too. I've put my Mom to work for part of this trip teaching me her secrets, but her trip wasn't without some adventure. I'm working on another post about our trip to Guilin and Yangshuo. Travel and cooking - two of my favorite things in life.
We had lots of "help" because we rolled the gnocchi after the boys got home from school, hence some uneven and unusual shapes.

A little fatter than I remember Grandma's. I had lots of questions for you Debbie, but it was two o'clock in the morning your time.
