The campus is coming back to life

Adding to the growing list of things that are "different" (to put a positive spin on it) about living here...everyone seems to abandon ship and go somewhere for the summer and I mean the WHOLE summer, not 1-3 weeks. It's such a strange atmosphere and I felt like we were on a college campus for the summer because we'd decided to go to summer school. A lot of these people don't see their spouse for weeks at a time. The boys and I are bummed when we're separated from Kenny for a week and that's always work related. I guess we're lucky, but home is where we're all together.

Anyway, school starts this week for most kids here and our compound is waking up. I'm seeing more and more kids and non-Chinese people. The boys have their first full day on Friday after an open house Thursday afternoon.
