Tibet - Day 2 morning

We spent morning number 2 at Drepung Monastery right outside the town of Lhasa. According to my guide book, for centuries Drepung was the largest monastery in all of Tibet. At one time it housed over 10,000 monks. Today there are around 700 monks living there. Not all of the monasteries allowed photography, but this one did so I posted some photos of the amazing colors. We also lucked out as it was some Buddhist holy day and we were able to observe the monks chanting. I'll upload a short video of that in another post. It was pretty amazing.

You're lucky that you got to take photos! Like you said, there are places in Tibet where you're not allowed to take pics. Also, it seems like you befriended some locals in your trip there so good for you! It seems like you had a fun time!
