This past weekend we had a three day holiday (German reunification day) and we decided to head to Budapest, Hungary. As far as Jack was concerned we were flying there for his fourth birthday, at least that's what he told anyone within hearing distance of us all weekend. I'll do a separate post for his birthday. We had a great time despite the nasty weather on Saturday. It's a very picturesque city and this particular weekend the town was overtaken with beautiful show dogs from all over the world because there was a huge dog show in town. Some highlights, other than the dogs, were castle hill at night, Statue Park where salvaged monuments from the Communist era (1945-1989) are displayed, and the House of Terror which "Illustrates the grim decades of Nazi and Communist repression, this museum is the former headquarters for the secret police of both the Nazi and Communist governments." Budapest has been on my "list of places to visit" since we got here and it didn't disappoint.
