One of the Mom's at the boys school arranged a bakery tour for us on a day off of school. It was really interesting for the kids and parents to see how they make all the goodies and at times get to join in. Man oh man though, I don't know how teachers do it. The kids were pretty good, but keeping them all interested, and from touching, fighting, screaming, screeching, jumping, laying on the floor, burning themselves, etc., was exhausting and we only did it for about 2 hours. It was also interesting to see the contrast to what I imagine it would be like touring an American bakery. I'm sure health and safety codes would have prohibited many of the things I saw the kids doing both with and without the knowledge of the bakers. They were offered raw dough to eat, licked the frosting that was going to be put on the cakes and I saw one little girl sticking her finger in the beater of the industrial mixer (she only squealed a little). It was pretty entertaining.
