The trip of many lost things

We are now back from our trip through southeast Germany and Austria. We had a great time and especially enjoyed Salzburg, Hallstat, and Vienna. Along the way we seemed to get a little lighter as this was a trip where we seemed to leave, lose or have something stolen around every turn. It started with my Mom thinking she had lost her passport. We turned our bags, car and hotel rooms upside down with no luck. Finally, we called our friend Carrie back here in Ramstein who went over to our house and found it with my Mom's plane tickets. It was a big relief, but also meant we couldn't go into the Czech Republic as planned. No biggie, we spent a night in the wine country near Vienna. The next day we went to a huge park and after leaving the park, Jack's "Bear" was nowhere to be found. Mom and I were just sure he was left back at the hotel, so off we drove back to the hotel, but no Bear. Then I remembered I had seen him in the stroller at the park (which I reiterate was HUGE), so we drove back to the park where I hiked around and spotted him posed on a big rock. After three great days in Vienna, I went to pay for something and discovered my wallet had been stolen out of my backpack. It sucked to lose the money, but the real bummer was losing my German drivers license. The bureaucracy in this country makes getting things like a new license a major headache. Other than leaving my allergy eye drops in one of the last hotels, we made it home with the possessions we had left.

The boys are getting very spoiled with Grandma around and are going to be lost without her. Here are a couple of pictures of them camping outside her bathroom door while she showers.
I'll write some separate posts for each stop on our trip. Here are a few from outside Vienna and Passau, Germany:
